We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting a dedicated Stream Deck + profile for Star Citizen, and after weeks of hard work, we are excited to finally unveil it!
Why Now?
With the limitation of Stream Deck + only having eight keys, we have always felt it was an impossible challenge to create a profile that could accommodate Star Citizen's huge number of icons and actions while remaining easy to navigate during gameplay. That is… until now.
Elgato recently launched two amazing new hardware add-ons for Stream Deck + and at the same time pushed a software update that introduced Action Wheels, a feature that greatly improved navigation using the device’s four dials.
First look
This summer, we completely reimagined how we can use this new navigation method to design a Stream Deck + profile for Star Citizen. We've created and refined over 90 icons and created a profile that is intuitive, visually appealing, and optimized for the unique interface of Stream Deck +.
This has been a significant effort, and we are thrilled to finally support Star Citizen fans using the Stream Deck +.
Free Updates
With Star Citizen still in its alpha phase, frequent updates and changes are a part of the experience. Since we can’t predict what features or modifications will come next, we are committed to quickly designing new icons to support the latest updates. We have always aimed to provide free updates to our icon pack within days of any new release.
Thanks to this commitment, our original Star Citizen icon pack for Stream Deck MK.2 and Stream Deck XL has expanded from 450 icons to over 605 with last week’s 3.24 release. Our profiles are thoroughly tested to ensure they are well-organized, easy to navigate, and enhance your gameplay experience.
Managing Future Updates
Supporting a third Stream Deck device adds complexity and extends the time required to design, build, and test our updates. To ensure we continue delivering timely updates for our Stream Deck MK.2 and Stream Deck XL customers, the Stream Deck + version will follow a slightly different update schedule.
The Star Citizen Icon Pack for Stream Deck + will be offered as a new product, with free updates for future Star Citizen versions coming shortly after those for other Stream Deck devices.
