# Sentinel Companion PC App

The **iConCity Sentinel Companion** unlocks Sentinel’s extended live-monitoring features on Windows.

Running quietly in the background, it gathers genuine performance information from your PC and delivers it directly to the Sentinel widget on your CORSAIR XENEON EDGE.

## Extended live monitoring

The Sentinel Companion provides compatible systems with:

1. CPU usage, temperature, clock speed, package power and per-core activity
2. GPU temperature, core load, VRAM load, board power and clock speeds
3. GPU encoder and decoder activity
4. Available motherboard, controller, cooler and GPU fan speeds
5. System-memory usage
6. System uptime
7. Selectable storage capacity for one drive, multiple drives or all fixed drives
8. Combined physical-disk read and write throughput
9. Busiest-physical-disk activity
10. Network download and upload speeds across active interfaces
11. Native Windows Wi-Fi signal strength

Sentinel also supports user-selected CPU, GPU, load and cooling sensors supplied directly through CORSAIR iCUE. When an iCUE sensor is unavailable, Sentinel can use a compatible Companion reading instead.

Available measurements depend on your processor, graphics card, motherboard, controllers, drivers and exposed hardware sensors. Unsupported readings are clearly displayed as **N/A** or **OFF**. Sentinel never replaces unavailable readings with simulated data.

## Private and local

The Sentinel Companion operates locally on your Windows PC.

It connects to the Sentinel widget through the loopback address `127.0.0.1:47831`. This address is restricted to your computer and is not accessible from other devices on your network.

The Companion does not upload your live telemetry, files or account information. It does not require a cloud account, and no internet connection is needed for normal monitoring after installation.

## Simple installation

1. Download the Sentinel Companion ZIP file.
2. Extract the ZIP to a normal folder.
3. Close CORSAIR iCUE.
4. Open the extracted folder.
5. Run **INSTALL SENTINEL COMPANION.cmd**.
6. Approve the Windows administrator prompt.
7. Reopen iCUE.

The Companion installs for the current Windows user and starts silently with Windows through an iConCity Sentinel Companion scheduled task.

The current Companion is a self-contained Windows application. **Node.js is not required**, and the installer does not need to download production dependencies.

## Requirements

- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
- CORSAIR iCUE 5.47 or newer
- Sentinel for CORSAIR XENEON EDGE
- Administrator approval during Companion installation
- Supported hardware sensors and current device drivers for the readings you want to display

## Compatibility

Sentinel Companion is designed for broad hardware coverage through LibreHardwareMonitor, including:

- Intel and AMD processors
- Supported NVIDIA, AMD and Intel graphics hardware
- Compatible motherboard monitoring controllers
- Supported storage devices
- Windows Ethernet and Wi-Fi interfaces

Some manufacturers restrict individual sensors or require elevated access. A missing sensor is reported honestly as unavailable and does not prevent the rest of Sentinel from working.

## Updating

To update the Companion, download the latest ZIP and run **INSTALL SENTINEL COMPANION.cmd** again. The installer replaces older Sentinel Companion tasks and files automatically.

## Uninstalling

Run **UNINSTALL SENTINEL COMPANION.cmd** from the downloaded package. This removes the Companion’s scheduled task and installed application files for the current Windows user.

## Verify the installation

After installation, open the following local address in a browser:

`http://127.0.0.1:47831/v2/health`

A working Companion reports `ready: true` and the installed version number.
